Feline Boarding at Carden Kennels

Bangor Location

Our cat room was renovated in 2021 and is located near the office, completely separate from the dog boarding areas. This is not an afterthought — Janet designed this space specifically for felines, addressing the behavioral and environmental needs that reduce stress and support natural feline instincts.

Cats are both predators and prey, and they are most comfortable with vertical space and elevated vantage points. Our vertical condos feature a built-in feeding and watering ledge with a resting shelf positioned away from the litter area, supporting the natural feline preference for separate functional spaces.

Coated wire mesh doors and rear condo ventilation promote healthy air circulation. Stainless steel soft-close hinges reduce noise, minimizing stress and anxiety. All surfaces are bright and easy to clean with maximum visibility so your cat does not feel enclosed, while still providing nooks and cubbies for hiding and observing.

Our staff offers each guest individual time outside their room to enjoy the playroom with a climbing wall, perches, and toys, or to sit by the four sunny windows and watch the world.

Feline Boarding at The Uncommon Dog

Holden Location

We opened cat boarding at The Uncommon Dog in 2025. Janet designed this space with the same principles applied at Carden Kennels — purpose-built environments that reduce stress and support natural feline behavior.

Our condos feature a built-in feeding and watering ledge with a resting shelf positioned away from the litter area, supporting the natural feline preference for separate functional spaces. Coated wire mesh doors and rear vents promote healthy air circulation, while stainless steel soft-close hinges reduce noise and minimize stress.

All surfaces are bright and easy to clean with maximum visibility so your cat does not feel enclosed, while still providing nooks and cubbies for hiding and observing. Condos are vertical, as felines prefer elevated positions.

Our staff offers each guest individual time outside their room to enjoy the playroom with a 6-foot by 6-foot climbing gym, perches, and toys, or to sit by the sunny windows and observe from above.
